Login.gov now accepts eligible mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs) and U.S. passport cards for online identity verification. These options build on Login.gov’s existing acceptance of U.S. passport books, driver’s licenses, and state IDs, giving people more ways to verify their identity.
These new options are available online only. Passport books, passport cards, and mDLs are not currently accepted for in-person verification. Individuals who choose to verify their identity in person at a participating Post Office still need to use a driver’s license or state ID card.
