Next ConMon Meeting
The next Agency Collaborative Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) meeting is planned for July 2026. The goals of the ConMon include sharing Plans of Action and Milestones and reviewing Deviation and Significant Change Requests. These meetings, which now occur quarterly, offer partners the opportunity to collaborate and help us make risk-based decisions together.

Now live: One IAL2 identity-verified account per user
As part of our ongoing work to align with NIST Revision 4 standards, we recently began to enforce a policy where users may maintain only one identity-verified account at the IAL2 level across all IAL2 applications. The duplicate account resolution flow is operating successfully with minimal user impact. For questions about this policy, please connect with us at partners@login.gov.
NIST/Login.gov mDL Demonstration Project Moves into its Next Phase
We recently completed the development work for our mobile driver’s license (mDL) demonstration project together with the NIST National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence. During this demonstration project, we will complete usability testing and a test-run for our future production mDL implementation. NIST is expected to publish results in the coming weeks, which we will also share with our partners. The flow used for this demonstration is for testing purposes and may not reflect the precise flow Login.gov will use for mDLs. We are still on track to accept mDLs later this year. NIST 800-63 Revision 4 Update
As part of our ongoing commitment to trusted digital identity assurance, we are pleased to announce that independent third-party assessment activities aligned with NIST 800-63 Revision 4 Digital Identity Guidelines are now underway through the Kantara Initiative.
Though Kantara is currently still finalizing its assessment process following the release of the new NIST 800-63-4 guidelines, Login.gov is participating early in this work to help establish transparent and repeatable industry assurance practices. We will continue to proactively communicate as assessment activities progress and as additional implementation guidance becomes available through NIST.
In addition to these efforts, we are also in the process of pursuing our renewal certification for NIST SP 800-63-3.
